A Sweet Family Tale

All began in 1872, when Hector, my Great Great Grand Father opened the Boulangerie-Pâtisserie Maës in the small town of Lesquin – North of France. Since then, the family business has been passed on and on from fathers to sons. My father has not been the elected one to take over the business but his twin brother did, and now my cousin Franck in Wavrin. I have always been very proud of this tradition and I like to think that it is my fate to follow their steps in my own way.

When I was a child, I used to wander in the pastry laboratory. I tasted everything I could find from chocolate bonbons to viennoiseries, breads getting off the oven or just fresh butter. It was a warm place and it smelled so good.

I can’t wait to share with you some of their Signature pastries like the “Tarte bradée”, the “Merveilleux” and the “Moka”.
